View "The Baby Society" Video or DVD together
with your child.
•
Pause the video at times to comment, repeat vocabulary
words, and make eye contact with your baby to show shared
interest.
•
Combine gestures with words to reinforce language concepts
presented (such as "blow a kiss", or "peek-a-boo").
Gently encourage your baby to participate with you.
•
Demonstrate animal sounds for your baby when those animals
appear in the video.
•
Show your baby examples of objects in your home that
are also in the video to help carry over language skills
your child is learning.
•
Encourage your child to name items that he sees on the
screen.
•
As your baby's language skills increase, help him expand
his utterances to include descriptions with colors,
